These championships will be much more than a simple competition. They will be a meeting point for our great family of mountain and trail runners, an international community that shares the same passion.

I'm quite sure that you will feel at home here. Each of you, whether as an athlete, coach or member of the organizing associations, will be an key part of this celebration.

CanfrancPirineos 2025 wants to present the Spanish Pyrenees as a great natural space in which there is a space for the organizing of major sporting events and their integration with the territory, the population, its cultural tradition and its economic development model.

The World Mountain and Trail Running Championships is a strong commitment of the Public Administrations to promote the territory as an unbeatable environment for the celebration of major international sporting events. There are a long and reliable track record in Canfranc organizing this kind of sporting competitions in Canfranc.

The celebration of the World Championships in the Pyrenees will give a definitive boost to the practice of sports activities in the Aragonese natural environment.

We know that the WMTRC will generate a social legacy materialized in an increase of these practices as well as a rapprochement of the citizenship to the mountain as a space of leisure. We want to promote a natural space where the different physical activities that can be carried out in an organized and structured way.

The World Championship of Mountain and Trail Running 2025 will be held in CanfrancPirineos with a strict and careful respect for the criteria of environmental, economic and social sustainability; and aims to become a benchmark of sustainable competition.
