Spain and the Pyrenees, the second most important mountain range in Europe, will host the World Mountain and Trail Running Championships (WMTRC) for the first time in their history from 25 to 28 September 2025. CanfrancPirineos, known worldwide for its iconic International Railway Station, is preparing thoroughly to host the five modalities that will be contested.

The race program will feature uphill mountain running, classic up-and-down mountain running, short trail, long trail, and U20 classic up-and-down mountain events. CanfrancPirineos will host the best runners in the world in a competition that is organized by World Athletics, World Mountain Running Association (WMRA), International Trail Running Association (ITRA), International Association of Ultrarunners (IAU), and the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation (RFEA).
